Federal Express Corp. (FedEx), an express transportation company, announced the expansion of its FedEx International Connect Plus (FICP) service to the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa (MEISA) region.
FedEx said that the expansion aims to give Filipino businesses better access to key international destinations through day-definite e-commerce shipping that is fast, reliable, and cost-effective.
Trade between the Philippines and MEISA countries continues to grow. In March 2025, the Philippines exported $34.3 million worth of goods to the United Arab Emirates, a 2.51% increase from the previous year. During the same period, India exported $177 million to the Philippines, up 9.39% year on year.
“As Filipino businesses explore more trade with more markets like the UAE and Saudi Arabia, there’s a growing need for shipping solutions that are both affordable and reliable,” said Maribeth Espinosa, managing director, FedEx Philippines. “By expanding FedEx International Connect Plus to the MEISA region, we’re helping e-tailers and small to medium enterprises (SMEs) deliver their products faster and easier, and with the confidence to thrive in the global market.”
FedEx said the expansion is part of its plan to support the growth of e-commerce by providing businesses with solutions that improve delivery speed and reliability while keeping costs manageable. The company added that FICP’s coverage in the MEISA region will help Filipino exporters and SMEs reach more customers abroad.
