Samsung Electronics has introduced the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, expanding its foldable smartphone lineup with a model designed to combine a larger display, enhanced imaging capabilities, and artificial intelligence (AI) features in a slimmer form factor.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra features an 8-inch main display and measures 4.1 mm when unfolded, making it the slimmest Galaxy Z Fold model released by Samsung to date. It weighs 215 grams and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, paired with a 5,000mAh battery. Samsung said the larger display is intended to support multitasking, productivity, and content creation on a foldable device.
The smartphone’s camera system includes a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Samsung also added HDR support in the 200MP shooting mode, while the ultra-wide camera is designed to improve landscape, group, and close-up photography. For video creators, the Fold8 Ultra supports 8K recording using the APV codec and includes Cine LUT tools for color adjustment directly on the device. Improved Nightography features are also included for low-light photography and video.
Samsung said the device incorporates a new dual-path charging architecture supporting 45W wired charging and an expanded graphite cooling structure to help manage heat during demanding workloads. The Fold8 Ultra also includes Galaxy AI features such as Gemini Intelligence and Notebook, allowing users to organize notes, files, recordings, and images in a single workspace while generating summaries, reports, and other AI-assisted outputs. Security features include Samsung Knox, Knox Vault, and additional privacy controls for AI-powered functions.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is available for pre-order in the Philippines beginning July 22 in Graphite, Cream, and Violet Shadow, with Green Shadow offered exclusively through Samsung’s online store.
