Globe appoints Darius Delgado as new chief commercial officer

Globe Telecom has announced the appointment of Darius Jose Delgado as its new chief commercial officer (CCO), effective Sept. 1, 2024. 

Delgado, who currently serves as Globe’s vice president for Consumer Mobile Business, will take over from Maria Louisa “Issa” Guevarra-Cabreira, who will transition into a new role as leadership development advisor to the chief human resources officer.

Delgado brings over 30 years of experience in various leadership roles. His tenure at Globe has been marked by his contributions to the company’s strategic direction, particularly in areas such as strategy, sales and marketing, and audit. His experience in Profit and Loss (P&L) management has driven Globe’s profitability and increased its market share.

“As Darius steps into his role as chief commercial officer, he will report directly to me, leading our Commercial Group to unlock even greater opportunities for our business,” said Ernest Cu, president and CEO of Globe. 

Cu noted that Delgado has consistently demonstrated his ability to drive growth and sustain momentum, especially over the past year as officer-in-charge of the Commercial Group.

Delgado’s leadership has been pivotal in the successful execution of strategic initiatives by Globe’s Consumer Mobile, Broadband, and Business-to-Business (B2B) teams, which have been crucial in maintaining the company’s competitive edge amid rapid technological changes and market pressures.

Before joining Globe, Delgado gained extensive experience as a director at SGV & Co. (Ernst & Young) for nine years. He holds a degree in Accountancy from the University of Santo Tomas, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and completed the Executive Development Program at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, in 2024.
