Darius Delgado, chief commercial officer(CCO) of Globe was appointed as a board member of the World Broadband Association (WBBA). Delgado is the first Filipino to hold a seat on the board of the Geneva-based organization.
Founded in 2021, WBBA brings together broadband and cloud technology leaders to address the digital divide and promote equitable digital access worldwide. Globe joined the association in April 2024, becoming one of three Philippine telecom firms in the group.
“Being part of the WBBA board enables Globe to collaborate with global industry leaders in shaping the future of broadband. We look forward to contributing insights and innovations that will enhance connectivity and expand access, especially in emerging markets such as the Philippines,” said Delgado.
The appointment provides Globe with a platform to participate in key industry discussions, collaborate on solutions for connectivity challenges, and support sustainable network expansion.

Through WBBA, Globe’s broadband arm takes part in analyst-led executive discussions and industry symposiums. It also contributes to broadband research through white papers, blogs, and newsletters.
WBBA aims to improve broadband reach through policy development, technological innovation, and sustainable infrastructure investments—objectives that align with Globe’s efforts to advance digital transformation in the Philippines.
