Globe continues to extend its network reach and enhance capacity, building 116 new cell sites and upgrading 812 mobile sites to LTE in Q1 2024.
With the hope of maximizing its existing resources and improve customer experience, telecommunications company Globe has deployed an additional 19,544 fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) lines. These lines, composed of high-speed fiber optic cables, are crucial for transmitting data efficiently. Although this deployment is lower compared to last year, it reflects a calculated approach to optimize the company’s fiber inventory and align with a reduced capital expenditure plan.
“Our plan supplements investments we have made in the last three to four years,” said Joel Agustin, SVP and head of Network Planning and Engineering, Globe. “We remain focused on improving service consistency and availability to deliver good customer experience and support traffic across regions and territories.”
Globe’s current focus is on leveraging its fiber resources to serve the underserved prepaid fiber market, ensuring broader access to reliable and high-quality broadband services.
By continually investing in its network infrastructure, Globe aims to enhance connectivity to support a wide range of digital activities, from online learning and remote work to e-commerce and entertainment. This commitment aligns with Globe’s mission to empower individuals and businesses through innovative digital solutions.
