Globe Telecom Inc. (Globe), a digital solutions provider in the Philippines, expanded its collaboration with Nokia to speed up the rollout of network application programming interfaces (APIs) across its partner and developer ecosystem.

The agreement gives Globe access to Nokia’s Network Exposure Platform (NEP), which allows companies and developers to tap deeper network functions and data. APIs help enterprises build services that use advanced network features, including identity verification, connectivity optimization, and fraud detection.

Industries such as banking, healthcare, automotive, entertainment, and defense have started early use cases. Globe said wider adoption is expected as businesses explore how network-based tools can support digital services.

“Nokia’s open API solutions will empower Globe to rapidly develop and deploy new services, fostering innovation and creating new revenue streams by securely exposing network capabilities to developers and partners,” said Shkumbin Hamiti, head of Network Monetization Platform at Nokia. “End users will experience a richer ecosystem of digital services, personalized applications, and improved connectivity.”

The NEP is a cloud-native platform that simplifies API service delivery and supports compatibility across different network environments. In February 2025, Globe announced plans to test NEP to build security-focused applications that address mobile banking fraud.

“With cyberattacks on digital services accelerating, it is crucial that we make available the latest network-powered technologies to our enterprise customers and help them safeguard against fraud,” said KD Dizon, VP and head of Globe Business. “We are now at the stage of testing how Nokia’s NEP can support our customers in the banking and enterprise sectors with security verification tools to prevent fraudulent transactions.”

Nokia’s NEP supports the GSMA Operator Platform and aligns with global initiatives such as GSMA Open Gateway and Linux Foundation CAMARA, which aim to standardize network APIs.
