Telecommunications company Globe Telecom Inc. earned ₱121.7 billion in service revenues in the first nine months of 2025, slightly lower than the ₱124 billion it posted in the same period last year.
Despite the dip, Globe said it continued to recover in the third quarter with ₱41.5 billion in revenues, up 3% from the previous quarter. The company said the steady growth shows stronger operations and improving market conditions.
“Our third-quarter results underscore Globe’s consistent performance and our ability to create impact beyond connectivity for more Filipino families and businesses,” said Carl Cruz, president and CEO of Globe Telecom Inc.
Most of Globe’s income still came from data-related services such as mobile data, home broadband, and corporate internet solutions. These made up 88% of its total revenues during the period, up from 86% a year ago.
The mobile business remained the main source of earnings, bringing in ₱86.2 billion by end-September. This was 2% lower than last year’s ₱87.7 billion. Mobile revenues in the third quarter reached ₱29.1 billion, a 1% increase from the previous quarter, marking two straight quarters of growth.
Globe’s mobile subscriber base also grew 5% to 63.1 million, from 60.2 million a year ago.
Mobile data continued to lead growth, reaching a record ₱25.2 billion in the third quarter. This brought the total for the nine-month period to ₱74 billion, slightly higher than ₱72.9 billion last year. The increase came from more Filipinos using apps for chatting, watching videos, and making cashless payments.
Internet traffic rose by 8% from the first to the third quarter, while the average data use per subscriber stayed at about 15 GB per month. By September, Globe had 37.8 million mobile data users, 2% more than last year. Mobile data now accounts for 86% of total mobile revenues.
Calls and text services continued to decline as users shifted to data-based communication.
Globe’s home broadband business earned ₱17.8 billion in the first nine months of the year, almost the same as last year. Quarterly broadband revenues went up 4% to ₱6.1 billion in the third quarter, as more households switched from fixed wireless to fiber internet.
