Digital bank GoTyme Bank has partnered with Wise Platform, a global payment infrastructure provider for banks and enterprises, to offer international money transfers through the GoTyme Bank app.
GoTyme Bank is the first partner bank of Wise Platform in the Philippines and its first International Receive partner in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
“Our collaboration with Wise is about creating a trusted remittance experience that feels effortless,” said Nate Clarke, president and CEO of GoTyme Bank. “By pairing Wise’s world-class technology and global network with GoTyme Bank’s simple, beautiful banking, we’re redefining how Filipinos support their families, grow their ambitions, and stay connected to what matters most.”
The integration aims to address challenges faced by overseas Filipino workers and their families, including high fees, hidden charges, slow processing, and limited visibility on transfer status.
GoTyme Bank now uses Wise Platform to process international payments over SWIFT. Customers can receive money from more than 11,000 banks in 23 major currencies, such as USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, and SGD, with full pricing transparency and faster settlement.
Remittances remain a major economic contributor, with OFWs sending more than $38 billion every year. Wise research estimates that Filipino consumers lost about $170 million (₱9.74 billion) in 2024 due to hidden fees in international transfers.
With the new feature, GoTyme Bank customers can view and share account details through the app so senders can transfer funds easily. The service supports 23 currencies and operates round-the-clock. Customers can withdraw remittances for free at more than 1,400 Robinsons Retail partner stores nationwide.
“As the first Wise Platform partnership in the Philippines, it demonstrates how we’re extending beyond our own products to power better financial services through partners,” said Samarth Bansal, GM at APAC, Wise Platform. “Payments coming over SWIFT have faced hidden charges and slow speeds.”
Bansal added that GoTyme Bank is the first bank in the Philippines to address this issue. He said Wise has spent 14 years building infrastructure to move money across borders and that partner banks can now benefit from it through Wise Platform.
