Grab Philippines recently introduced its Women Program as part of its “GrabAsenso” initiative, aiming to empower women by facilitating their participation as driver-partners on the Grab platform.
The Women Program is a component of GrabAsenso, which seeks to enhance the lives of Grab’s partners by fostering economic empowerment and gender inclusivity.
Aligned with Grab’s mission of driving economic empowerment across Southeast Asia, the Women Program aims to remove barriers hindering women’s access to earning opportunities as Grab driver-partners. Through tailored initiatives addressing women’s concerns about driving, Grab aims to promote gender equality and enable more women to benefit from its platform.

“As a female leader in what many regard as a male-dominated space, I am committed to rallying everyone at Grab, especially all female leaders, to create more opportunities for womankind — lifting more people as we rise as leaders and as a company,” said Grace Vera Cruz, country head, Grab Philippines. “This ethos is deeply rooted in our philosophy that growth is not just about business and operations; it’s about responsible, inclusive, and empathetic growth. One that brings Filipinos to a world where everyone thrives regardless of background or gender.”
Training program
The Women Program includes customized training modules covering essential topics like vehicle maintenance, customer service, and safety protocols. Collaborating with organizations like TESDA, MMDA, PCW, and PRC, Grab ensures comprehensive training for women driver-partners. Grab will facilitate online communities where women partners can connect, share experiences, and receive support.
Safety is a paramount concern addressed by the Women Program, with Grab testing a feature allowing women driver-partners to prefer women passengers, enhancing their peace of mind during rides. To raise awareness, Grab has launched the #WomenWelcome campaign, showcasing its commitment to making driving a viable option for women through safety innovations, training, and community support.
