With the goal of ensuring road safety, Grab Philippines regularly holds road safety learning sessions and continuous learning programs to equip its driver-partners with the knowledge and skills required for road safety.
“Road safety is more than just abiding by traffic regulations as it is a multi-dimensional commitment that requires a 360-degree approach,” said CJ Lacsican, head of Operations for Grab Philippines. “At Grab, we embrace a holistic approach by introducing industry-first safety features within our app and equipping our driver-partners with the skills needed to offer safe rides, which cover not only the technical aspects of driving but also the expected decorum when ferrying our passengers to their intended destination.”
One of Grab’s initiatives is its quarterly webinar series, “Drive Safe: Takbong Pogi, Safe Palagi.” In these webinars, experts from Grab and partner organizations provide refreshers on road safety tips, vehicle maintenance, road safety guidelines, and driver well-being. These sessions also feature collaborations with organizations specializing in various road situations.

Grab partnered with CEMEX for a knowledge-sharing series titled “Listo Tayo!” in early 2023, focusing on safe driving with heavy- and light-duty trucks, benefiting around 1,000 driver- and delivery partners.
The webinar series extends beyond driving skills. It also addresses passenger handling and emphasizes the importance of delivering excellent customer service. Topics include gender sensitivity, the use of appropriate language, and a general code of conduct.
Grab also offers GrabAcademy, an in-app learning platform exclusive to its partner communities. This platform provides diverse educational programs covering subjects like road safety, vehicle sanitation, data protection, service quality standards, and platform guidelines. It also includes modules on entrepreneurship, computer basics, and digital content. Completion of these courses is recognized with a Certificate of Completion through the driver- or merchant-apps.
