Grab Philippines has launched its Green Programme, a new feature to promote environmental conservation. The initiative allows users to donate a small amount when booking rides or deliveries, supporting tree-planting and wildlife preservation efforts.
The program enables users to contribute ₱2 per GrabCar or GrabTaxi ride and ₱1 per GrabFood or GrabMart delivery. The donations will go toward projects such as a mangrove-planting effort in Dulao Village, La Union, in partnership with local communities, FEED, and EcoMatcher.
“In line with our ongoing commitment towards nation-building, Grab is focused on leveraging its tech and platform to cultivate a deep sense of sustainability and care for the environment across communities here in the Philippines,” said Greg Camacho, director for strategy at Grab Philippines.
Users can opt in or out of the Green Programme through the “Support the Environment” option in the app’s account settings or booking screens.
Beyond the Philippines, the Green Programme supports the Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary project, which protects nearly 300,000 hectares of ecosystems and 75 threatened species.
The initiative builds on Grab’s sustainability efforts, including reducing plastic waste in food deliveries, introducing electric vehicles for drivers, and redistributing surplus food to communities in need.
