Grab Philippines has officially launched its GrabCar services in Cagayan De Oro, marking the second city in Mindanao to offer this ride-hailing option. Currently, GrabCar operations cover the stretch from Laguindingan Airport to the end of Lapasan and Upper Balulang.
“Our superapp model enables us to deeply understand Kagay-anons — from their commuting habits with GrabTaxi to their daily dining choices with GrabFood,” said EJ Dela Vega, head of Mobility Marketplace at Grab Philippines. “We believe it’s the right time to provide residents of CDO with a mobility solution that caters to their daily needs.”
In 2015, Grab initiated efforts to digitize the taxi ecosystem in Cagayan De Oro with the introduction of GrabTaxi. Since then, Grab has established strong partnerships with key taxi operators in the city, resulting in the onboarding of numerous GrabTaxi driver-partners. This collaboration has significantly increased their earnings potential through enhanced bookings facilitated on the platform.

In addition to its mobility services, Grab expanded its footprint in CDO with the introduction of GrabFood in May 2020.
