Honor has unveiled its latest foldable smartphone, the Honor Magic V5, in China. The device, available starting at RMB 8,999, features a slim and light design, improved durability, and AI-powered features aimed at enhancing productivity and ease of use.

The Honor Magic V5 weighs 217 grams and measures 8.8mm when folded, making it one of the most compact inward-folding smartphones currently available. It has a 7.95-inch inner display and a 6.43-inch outer screen for convenient access to apps and multitasking.

The phone introduces Honor’s 6,100mAh silicon-carbon battery, available on the 1TB model, which offers higher energy density. It supports both wired and wireless fast charging. Honor says the device’s carbon fiber layers, reinforced hinge, and protective display coatings improve resistance to scratches, impacts, and dust.

For photography, the Magic V5 is equipped with a triple-camera system that includes a 64-megapixel telephoto lens, a 50-megapixel wide camera, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The camera system is enhanced by AI for clearer, more detailed images.

The device runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and MagicOS 9.0.1, which includes Honor’s AI agent, YOYO. The assistant can help with daily tasks, such as creating presentations, sharing files, booking taxis, and more.

The Honor Magic V5 is available in Ivory White, Black, Dawn Gold, and Reddish Brown. Pre-orders in China began July 2, and Honor plans to release the phone in other markets later this year.
