HONOR has officially launched the HONOR Robot Phone, a smartphone with a built-in motorized camera gimbal designed to make professional-style video production easier for everyday users.
The AI device ecosystem company said the Robot Phone integrates a fully motorized 3-axis mechanical gimbal into its flagship smartphone design. The device combines smartphone imaging with selected elements of ARRI Image Science and professional cinema workflows.
First shown at MWC 2026 in March, the Robot Phone is now entering commercial rollout globally.
The HONOR Titanium Agile Gimbal uses more than 100 precision components and was developed through 60 manufacturing processes. HONOR said the system is 65% smaller than mainstream gimbals while offering 200% greater structural strength. It is also backed by more than 100 patents.
The gimbal’s 2.6g titanium motor can move at up to 360° per second, while the HONOR Super steel Flip Motor delivers a torque density of 120 N·m/L.
The Robot Phone is also the first product from the Cinematic Imaging Partnership between HONOR and ARRI, the world-renowned designer of professional cinema cameras.
“For more than a century, ARRI has helped filmmakers translate technology into compelling visual stories,” said Harald Brendel, director of Image Science at ARRI. “Our cooperation with HONOR brings selected elements of ARRI Image Science and professional workflow thinking into a new mobile context, giving creators greater consistency, control, and creative flexibility from capture through post-production.”
Brendel also noted that with the HONOR Robot Phone, the company is taking an important first step in exploring how established cinematic principles can support a new generation of visual storytellers.
The phone has a Dual 200MP Camera system, led by a 200MP Agile Gimbal Main Camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and f/1.6 aperture. It is paired with a 200MP Periscope Telephoto Camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor and 2.7x optical zoom, plus a 50MP Ultra-Wide Camera with a 122° field of view.
For video creators, the main camera supports 10-bit ARRI LogC3 recording in ARRI CINEMA mode. The system also combines ARRI Wide Gamut 3 and ARRI Looks with HONOR’s H1 Image Chip. HONOR said AI noise reduction improves video signal-to-noise ratio by 8 dB, while dynamic range optimization supports up to 14 stops.
The Robot Phone’s camera arm can automatically track users and perform movements such as Tilt Lock, First Person View, FPV Vertical, and AI SpinShot.
Running on MagicOS, its YOYO Robot Mode uses AI to understand surroundings, recognize gestures, and control the phone’s physical movement. Voice Source Localization and AI Live-Tracking can automatically pan and tilt the camera to keep users in frame.
The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform and has a 7,060mAh HONOR Silicon-carbon Battery, with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.
The Robot Phone features a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED HONOR AI Eye Comfort Display with a 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 6,800 nits peak brightness.
