Honor Philippines held a durability test for its new smartphone, the Honor X9d 5G, putting the device through a series of stress tests that included a runover by a Tesla Cybertruck.
The test, called the Honor X9d 5G Ultra Defense Challenge, took place at WBS Studios in Pasig. Honor Brand Ambassadors Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto led the activity and participated in the demonstrations.
The challenge included several tests designed to show how the phone handles impact and pressure. These included a slingshot hit, a three-meter drop, a cornhole-style throw, a decibel test, and a car-pull runover involving the Tesla Cybertruck and the Honor X9d 5G.
“The past three years gave us a strong foundation, and we are excited that achievement proves we are capable of pushing boundaries and delivering even more,” said Stephen Cheng, VP at Honor Philippines. “We have a lot of exciting news lined up for our Honor fans, and what we did with the Honor X9d 5G and the Tesla Cybertruck is just a preview of what is to come. You should all watch out for the grand launch this coming Jan. 9.”
The Honor X9d 5G was officially revealed on New Year’s Day. Following the announcement, several online creators, including Malupiton, Ser Geybin, Jomar Yee, and KaMangyan Vlogs, posted about the device on social media.
Honor Philippines said more details about the smartphone will be shared during its official launch.
