Huawei has secured the top spot in DXOMARK’s camera rankings, with its newly launched Huawei Pura 80 Ultra earning an overall score of 175, the highest recorded by the testing authority. The device outperformed the second-ranked smartphone by six points.

The Huawei Pura 80 Ultra achieved a record 180 Photo Score, tying the record for Video Score at 166, and earning DXOMARK’s highest telephoto rating. DXOMARK is a respected testing body that evaluates cameras and camera equipment using extensive measurements and analyses.

Huawei’s flagship features a 1-inch Ultra Lighting HDR Camera with a 16EV dynamic range, which helps capture fine detail in complex lighting conditions. Its portrait capabilities are powered by AI segmentation, enabling clear rendering of details such as hair strands and accessories against smooth backgrounds. The variable aperture (f/1.6–f/4.0) adjusts for different shooting needs, keeping both foreground and background sharp in group shots.

The Pura 80 Ultra also introduces a Switchable Dual Telephoto Camera that combines 3.7x and 9.4x optical zoom lenses in one unit. This design allows detailed shots of subjects from far distances, maintaining clarity and color accuracy even at high magnifications.

For video, the device’s Ultra Lighting HDR Camera delivers balanced exposures in challenging backlit scenes and smooth footage with advanced stabilization. Its telephoto system also supports high-quality video capture at long range, suitable for events or wildlife filming.

Color reproduction is handled by Huawei’s Ultra Chroma XMAGE system, which uses 1.5 million multi-spectral channels for accurate colors in various lighting environments. The system ensures natural skin tones and lifelike scenery, supporting the Pura 80 Ultra’s top scores in both photography and video.

With these results, Huawei’s latest flagship strengthens its standing in the high-end mobile imaging market.
