AI ventures
IBM’s recent investments highlight this commitment. Participation in Hugging Face’s Series D funding round, injecting $235M, emphasizes IBM’s dedication to collaborative AI platforms. It’s further substantiated by contributions of numerous open models and datasets to Hugging Face, including the Geospatial Foundation Model in partnership with NASA, a milestone in open-source AI models.
Another strategic investment surfaced through participation in HiddenLayer’s Series A funding, fortifying AI model security. HiddenLayer, a cybersecurity provider for AI assets, witnessed the largest Series A funding in AI security this year.
These ventures synergize with IBM’s trajectory, leveraging WatsonX models to catalyze open AI innovation. The launch of the WatsonX Granite model series and hosting Meta’s Llama 2-chat 70 billion parameter model within WatsonX underline IBM’s dedication to fostering a collaborative ecosystem for AI advancement.
