The IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) and Google have teamed up to help Filipino workers gain new skills in the IT and business process management (IT-BPM) industry. The partnership supports IBPAP’s Roadmap 2028, which hopes to strengthen the country’s talent pool and global standing in the sector.

“IBPAP is proud to work with Google to strengthen our talent pool with essential skills for higher-value IT-BPM roles,” said Jack Madrid, president and CEO of IBPAP. “This partnership is key to reinforcing the Philippines’ position as a global IT-BPM leader, ensuring our workforce remains competitive.”

Google will offer industry-recognized certifications through its Google Career Certificates program. These courses cover cybersecurity, data analytics, IT support, UX design, and project management, among other fields. Filipinos will also have access to the Google AI Essentials course on Coursera to learn AI-related skills.

“Google is dedicated to fostering growth in the Philippines through AI and upskilling initiatives,”. Our collaboration with IBPAP exemplifies this commitment. By equipping Filipinos with in-demand skills, we hope to contribute to the country’s economic progress and digital future.”

The IT-BPM industry in the Philippines reached $38 billion in revenue and employed 1.82 million people in 2024. However, addressing the skills gap is necessary to meet Roadmap 2028’s goals of $59 billion in revenue and 2.5 million jobs. The IBPAP-Google partnership is expected to help the country meet these targets and strengthen its role as a key player in high-value IT-BPM services.
