Ride-hailing company inDrive plans to update its app next year with new safety and support features as it continues to grow its operations in the Philippines.

The company added several safety tools this year. These include an emergency button that connects riders directly with law enforcement, 24/7 in-app and email support, and a Safety and Incident Management Team that monitors and investigates safety reports. inDrive said these features are part of its effort to make the platform easier and safer to use for both riders and drivers.

The company reported stronger activity in the country with eightfold surge in rides, attributing this to its expansion to seven cities and partnerships with local groups. inDrive said this coverage expansion has helped make rides more available in key urban centers and nearby provincial areas.

Sofia Guinto, head of Business Development of inDrive in the Philippines, said the company plans to onboard 20,000 drivers in 2026. The platform has 16,000 active partner drivers as of October, up from around 13,000 in January 2025.

The company considers the Philippines a high-growth market in Southeast Asia based on the growing number of riders and drivers on the platform.

inDrive is also improving its driver onboarding system. It is working with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group to create training modules that cover proper passenger handling, road safety, and other basic skills needed for transport services.
