Mobility company GAC Philippines is bringing the all-electric GAC AION UT hatchback to the Philippine market, built for urban drivers looking for a lower-cost electric vehicle (EV) with advanced safety and fast-charging features.
Priced at ₱998,000, the AION UT becomes one of the more affordable EV options in the country as competition in the local electric mobility segment continues to grow. The introductory price includes a ₱50,000 discount until June 30, while the first 400 buyers can also receive an additional ₱20,000 discount.
Already sold in markets such as Thailand, Australia, Europe, and Latin America, the AION UT is a compact city car with features commonly found in larger and more expensive vehicles.
“We are thrilled to bring another global hit from GAC’s line of innovations to the Philippines through the AION UT,” said Steven Wang, senior vice president of GAC International. “We are confident that the AION UT will bolster dynamic, safe, and sustainable driving for Filipinos upon its entry this 2026.”
The five-seater hatchback uses a dedicated EV platform and comes with a 2,750mm wheelbase and 905mm rear legroom, giving passengers more cabin space than typical compact cars.
For Philippine motorists dealing with heavy traffic and tight roads, the AION UT includes driver-assistance technologies such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and a 360-degree camera system.
The EV is powered by a 47.1 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery paired with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor producing 136 PS and 145 Nm of torque. GAC said DC fast charging can recharge the battery from 30% to 80% in around 30 minutes.
Inside, the hatchback features a 14.6-inch infotainment screen, an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, 24 storage compartments, and a 440-liter cargo space expandable through folding rear seats.
The vehicle also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, allowing owners to power small electronic devices directly from the car during outdoor activities or emergencies.
GAC Philippines said reservations for the AION UT are now open at dealerships nationwide.
