Salmon is encouraging Filipinos to see credit as a financial tool instead of something to fear, as the fintech company rolls out a new campaign focusing on responsible borrowing and better money management.
Built around the message, “If your money feels good, it is probably Salmon,” the campaign aims to change the way people think about utang, a word that many Filipinos still associate with financial stress and poor money management.
The campaign comes as more Filipinos turn to digital financial services for loans, payments, and everyday purchases. Salmon says its credit products are designed to make borrowing simpler, safer, and more rewarding through cashback, longer payment periods, and transparent terms.
Customer research cited by the company suggests that responsible access to credit can improve household finances. According to Salmon, 85% of Credit Line users said the service had a positive impact on their household well-being, while 93% of Product Loan customers said they would recommend Salmon to family and friends.
“When used responsibly, utang can be a powerful financial tool that can help Filipinos achieve the life they’ve always dreamed of and that alone is already a cause for celebration,” said Raffy Montemayor, co-founder of Salmon. “Our goal is to be a reliable financial partner for Filipinos in achieving these life milestones, whether that’s buying their first motorcycle, paying for furniture for their new home, or simply gaining their first access to formal credit.”
The campaign’s first advertisement features comedian and host Sam YG, who is greeted with confetti whenever he uses Salmon for purchases or financing, reinforcing the idea that responsible borrowing can support important life goals.
Salmon said its products focus on rewarding customers who maintain good payment habits. Benefits include up to 62 days of interest-free grace period for eligible customers, 0.5% cashback on QR and card payments made through the Salmon Credit Line, 0% down payment on eligible Product Loans available at more than 10,000 partner stores nationwide, and a fully digital application and repayment process.
The company also highlighted security and reliability as part of its offering, including instant virtual cards, masked card details for physical cards, transparent pricing, and 99.9% platform uptime. Salmon said it maintains a 4.8-star rating across the App Store and Google Play.
The company believes that making credit easier to understand and rewarding responsible borrowing can help more Filipinos build healthy financial habits while gaining access to formal financial services.
