Online job portal Jobstreet by SEEK recently revealed its Employee Job Happiness Index 2024 survey, revealing the companies Filipino jobseekers aspire to join. San Miguel Corp. emerged as the top choice among private companies, followed by Accenture and Ayala Corp.
“We at Jobstreet by SEEK believe that hirers may reach a whole new pool of potential talent to their organizations by considering new approaches to hiring and promoting open positions,” said Dannah Majarocon, managing director of Jobstreet by SEEK in the Philippines.
The survey also highlighted other sought-after companies, including Google, JP Morgan Chase & Co., and Nestlé. Government and non-government organizations also made the list, with the Asian Development Bank ranked first, followed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Department of Education.
Jobseekers value work schedule, company reputation, and values most when evaluating potential employers. They also consider work culture, benefits, and job security.
Boosting presence on social media
“We continue to provide hirers tips and guidance on how to promote their companies in various platforms, while also providing jobseekers some key skills in promoting their talent,” Majarocon said.
Filipinos primarily learn about employers through social media, news, and company websites. This indicates that companies should boost their presence on these platforms to attract top talent.
On employee retention, salary increases (39%), better working hours (13%), and promotions (13%) were identified as key drivers of happiness. Employees also pointed to holiday or vacation leaves (12%) as significant morale boosters.
“Keeping morale within an organization helps preserve job satisfaction and, in turn, employee retention. These benefits may also inspire employees to share their positive experiences with others,” the survey suggested.
By addressing these factors, companies can attract and retain talent effectively in a competitive job market.
