Kickstart Ventures, a corporate venture capital (CVC) owned by Globe Telecom, teamed up with the Trade Commissioner Service at the Embassy of Canada to the Philippines for the inaugural “Cross-border Ventures: A Showcase of Canada’s Most Innovative Startups” pitching session.

Known for its investment capabilities in multi-million-dollar ventures and dedicated post-investment support, Kickstart Ventures has become a preferred partner globally.

“This collaboration exemplifies our commitment to forging connections in the global landscape, and we look forward to more possible partnerships with embassies worldwide,” said Mike Maté, VP of Investments at Kickstart Ventures.

“This partnership holds special importance to us and is something that we want to continue to invest in,” said David Hartman, Ambassador of Canada to the Philippines. “We see great value in connecting Kickstart with more startups in Canada’s strong and robust innovation community, especially this milestone year, as we commemorate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Canada-Philippines diplomatic relations.”

The event featured pitches from Canadian startups presenting solutions in ClimateTech, FinTech, SaaS, AI, and Cybersecurity. Notable startups included FTEX, offering solutions for light electric vehicle manufacturers; Koïos Intelligence, providing AI-powered assistants for insurance professionals; Cya.Live, an immersive social broadcast platform; BB Inventions, with instant leak insights for risk management; Cinareo Solutions Inc., with workforce insights for contact centers; and Perch, a digital mortgage platform aimed at streamlining home buying.

This partnership showcases the power of international cooperation in driving innovation and economic growth. With three more investor pitching sessions planned for the year, startups will have additional opportunities to showcase their innovations.
