Lalamove partner drivers in Metro Manila are receiving ₱5,000 cash relief assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) as part of a coordinated payout for transport network company drivers.
The rollout covered more than 6,000 drivers on the first day in Las Piñas City, with over 30,000 eligible beneficiaries expected to be served across the three-day distribution under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations program.
The rollout highlights a hybrid operations model where government disbursement systems are extended through platform infrastructure. In this setup, DSWD manages eligibility and fund distribution, while Lalamove functions as a coordination layer handling driver communication, scheduling, and onsite operational support.
Ahead of the payout, Lalamove worked with DSWD to synchronize driver records, assign schedules, and push advisories through its driver app, SMS, and official Facebook page. The company also distributed instructions and FAQs to reduce onsite confusion and improve flow efficiency during the distribution process.
At the venue in Las Piñas City, Lalamove deployed support desks and staff to assist with verification guidance, queue management, and general driver concerns. The company also coordinated with DSWD, local government units, traffic enforcers, police units, venue operators, and medical teams to help manage safety and logistics throughout the rollout.
Additional service booths, including Pag-IBIG, Hyundai, and GCash, were also present to address related driver needs beyond the cash assistance itself, effectively turning the payout site into a multi-service support hub.
“We are grateful to the DSWD for staying true to their ‘Walang Maiiwan’ directive and making sure this vital government support reaches our partner drivers,” said Djon Nacario, managing director of Lalamove Philippines. “Lalamove has been coordinating closely with DSWD since March. Our priority is to ensure a smooth, orderly, safe, and efficient experience onsite, and to make sure our driver community can access their assistance with ease and confidence.”
Drivers who missed their assigned schedules are advised to check official Lalamove channels or visit the onsite help desk for assistance. Updates from DSWD and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) remain the official reference for the program.
