Lalamove, an on-demand delivery platform, has taken a step forward in environmental transparency by conducting its first voluntary climate-related disclosure. The move follows the standards set by IFRS S2 and shows the company’s focus on tackling climate change through better reporting and risk management.
“We have always been focusing on fostering a more sustainable future wherever we operate,” said Bill Li, director of corporate affairs at Lalamove. “We welcome the opportunity to drive progress in the transition toward new energy vehicles and reducing global emissions. As we move into a new New Energy Vehicle (NEV) era, we remain steadfast in our pledge to advancing a greener, safer, and more sustainable future for all.”
In 2024, Lalamove joined international efforts to fight climate change. It participated in COP29, the United Nations climate change conference, and exchanged views with Beijing Normal University’s Risk Governance Innovation Research Center on social approaches to climate issues.
Supporting NEV adoption
Lalamove continued to support NEV use through partnerships with car manufacturers in Mainland China. Driver partners can now choose from over 40 NEV models. The company also helped increase the number of charging stations and EV chargers.
These steps led to more drivers using NEVs. In 2024, NEV vans fulfilled about 60% of Lalamove’s orders in Mainland China, up from half in 2023. This helped the company lower its Scope 3 emissions.
Focus on safety
While working toward greener transport, Lalamove said safety remains a top priority. The company uses artificial intelligence (AI) and data tools to check and improve safety practices. It reported a 99.9% injury-free rate across its markets for three years straight.
Lalamove plans to continue aligning its operations with global sustainability efforts while offering safer and more eco-friendly transport services.
