Samsung Electronics (Samsung) has introduced the Galaxy AI features to a wider range of Galaxy devices via the new One UI 6.1 update, aiming to make artificial intelligence (AI) available to everyone.
This update, rolling out from the end of March across devices like the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and Tab S9 series, aligns with the recent launch of the Galaxy S24 series. By combining on-device and cloud-based AI, the update enhances users’ mobile AI experience.
“Our goal with Galaxy AI is not only to pioneer a new era of mobile AI, but also to empower users by making AI more accessible,” said TM Roh, president and head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics. “This is only the beginning of Galaxy AI, as we plan to bring the experience to over 100 million Galaxy users within 2024 and continue to innovate ways to harness the unlimited possibilities of mobile AI.”

Live Translate enables real-time voice and text translations during phone calls, while Interpreter facilitates spontaneous conversations with locals by providing text translations on a split-screen during live conversations.
AI-supported models
The integration of Galaxy AI across the ecosystem enhances day-to-day productivity on AI-supported models. Circle to Search with Google improves search functions with intuitive results generated through a circular motion gesture. Note Assist aids in organizing notes with formatting, summaries, and translations, while Browsing Assist offers comprehensive summaries of news articles for faster information absorption. Transcript Assist simplifies meeting recordings with transcriptions, summaries, and translations.
Galaxy AI also fosters creativity with tools like Generative Edit, allowing easy adjustment of objects in photos, and Edit Suggestion, which streamlines photo editing. Instant Slow-mo creates additional frames for slow-motion videos, eliminating the need for multiple retakes to capture dynamic moments.
