More than 100 representatives of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Iloilo City attended a PLDT Enterprise event focused on using connectivity, cybersecurity, and other digital tools to improve business operations.
PLDT Enterprise, the B2B arm of PLDT, has been holding SME Day events to introduce businesses across the Philippines to digital services and technology.
SME Day Iloilo brought together speakers from PLDT Enterprise, ePLDT, VITRO Inc., and Cisco Meraki. They discussed 5G, reliable internet connections, data centers, cybersecurity, and applications that can help companies serve customers and continue operating during disruptions.
“Our local businesses are an important part of Iloilo City’s progress,” said Atty. Fydah Marie Sabandoh Del Rosario, head of the Data Assessment and System Management Office of the Iloilo City Government.
For smaller businesses, adopting these technologies could help reduce downtime, protect company and customer information, and support expansion. However, the cost and complexity of digital tools can make adoption difficult for companies with limited staff and budgets.
“As Iloilo continues to grow as a center for business and innovation, we want our entrepreneurs to be ready to take advantage of new opportunities, leveraging technology as an essential part of doing business,” Del Rosario said.
