Technology company Lenovo has named Sumir Bhatia as its first chief commercial officer for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, to strengthen enterprise sales and accelerating growth across markets.
Bhatia will lead a newly formed commercial organization that combines enterprise sales, solutions sales, channel, and alliances teams. The structure is designed to improve coordination and push Lenovo’s Hybrid Artificial Intelligence (AI) offerings to more business customers in the region. He will continue to report to Amar Babu, president, Asia Pacific, Lenovo.
A long-time Lenovo executive, Bhatia previously led the company’s Infrastructure Solutions Group in APAC for about 10 years. During that time, he helped expand Lenovo’s infrastructure business, covering servers, storage, and data center solutions.
APAC remains an important growth market for Lenovo, because of the increasing demand for digital transformation, cloud computing, and AI adoption. The region includes both mature and emerging markets, creating opportunities for end-to-end technology solutions that can scale across different business needs.
With the new commercial setup, Lenovo aims to better align its full-stack AI portfolio, from devices to infrastructure, and deliver more integrated solutions to enterprises.
The leadership change comes as Ivan Cheung, vice president and general manager of Lenovo’s PCs & Smart Devices (PCSD) and chief operating officer in Asia Pacific, prepares to retire in June 2026 after years of leading the company’s device business in the region.
Benjamin Yeh took over as vice president and general manager of PCSD in the region in March 2026. He brings more than 20 years of industry experience and will oversee the next phase of growth for Lenovo’s PC business in the region.
