LinkedIn’s top PH companies for 2022 value mental health, inclusivity

Smart Communications, the wireless communications and digital services subsidiary of PLDT, tops the second edition of 2022 LinkedIn Top Companies. Last year, the company came in second to Philippine National Bank, which is conspicuously missing in this year’s top 10 list.

The 2022 LinkedIn Top Companies list is based on the idea of organizations being “the best workplaces to grow one’s career” obtained through unique LinkedIn data. The professional network also shared its criteria in coming up with the ranking: the ability to advance, skills growth, company stability, external opportunity, company affinity, gender diversity, and the spread of educational backgrounds.

“These are the companies offering stability in our ever-changing world of work — the ones that are attracting employees and retaining them,” LinkedIn said.

“Our Top Companies list celebrates companies invested in the growth and well-being of the most important resource in the workplace — people,” said Satoshi Ebitani, senior managing editor at LinkedIn News. “With dedicated programs and initiatives to support career progression and the growing need for work-life balance, these companies are leading the charge for long-term success in the workforce.”

The Philippines Top Companies for 2022 are:

Most of the companies on the list recognized the need to take care of employees’ mental health. Smart launched the “Mind Your Health” program while Metrobank started offering programs that support employees’ emotional and mental well-being.

Inclusivity

At a time when people lost their livelihood due to the pandemic, professional services company Accenture strengthened its Near-Hire Training program to help non-college job applicants who have the potential to meet the entry-level requirements. Along with this, organizations also invested in upskilling programs ensuring that employees will retain their jobs should there be another shift in the work landscape in the future.

Along with these mental and emotional support programs, Accenture also provided employees with essential work tools (headsets, talk-to-text keyboards, and glasses) to assist employees with vision, hearing, speech, or mobility impairment. For its part, Emerson has set building a diverse organization and workplace as a top priority, to double the representation of women globally by 2030.
