On Feb. 27th, the Manila Angel Investors Network (MAIN) initiated its Pitch Night, showcasing four promising tech startups from the Philippines.

This Pitch Night provided startup founders with a unique opportunity to present their business models and plans to some of the country’s most prominent angel investors. Prior to the event, these founders received coaching from MAIN’s resident investors, aimed at refining their pitches and making them more compelling.

“Pitch Night lends startups credibility and also offers them brand exposure. By supporting these startups in their growth journey, MAIN hopes to contribute to fueling the Philippines’ startup ecosystem,” said Quenby  Go, executive director, MAIN.

At the event, attendees, including members and guests, actively engaged with the startup founders, demonstrating a keen interest in their ventures.

The startups

Betterteem, a cloud-based platform focused on monitoring employee experience, aims to use artificial intelligence (AI) to predict and mitigate unwanted employee turnover.

DOON, on the other hand, is the Philippines’ first fully insured car-sharing marketplace, connecting private vehicle owners with renters.

“To be able to attend this event and present in a room full of investors is very efficient for us,” said Miguel Locsin, COO and co-founder of DOON.

CodeChum provides an assessment tool for teachers, offering programming lessons aligned with CHED’s learning outcomes.

Beppo offers a financial management platform designed to assist SMEs and self-employed individuals in organizing tax documents and receipts.

MAIN, comprising over 120 angel investors, serves as a bridge connecting promising early-stage startups with investors while offering mentorship and guidance. Notable startups funded by MAIN include Kumu, FlowerStore.PH, and Booky.
