Manulife Global Solutions (MGS) and Waves for Water Philippines have delivered 184 water filtration kits and three rainwater catchment facilities to more than 1,400 households in Rizal and Cebu under a three-year corporate social responsibility (CSR) program.

The rollout combines equipment with training on assembly, operation, and maintenance. Beneficiaries include the Dumagat indigenous community in Rizal, families in Cebu, and households relying on improvised water systems.

“Good health starts with access to life’s essentials, and clean water is among the most fundamental,” said Mark Woolfrey, head of Global Shared Services, Manulife Global Solutions. “Through our partnership with Waves for Water Philippines, we’re helping communities address critical water challenges while supporting healthier and more resilient futures.”

MGS, the company’s global solutions hub serving customers and colleagues across international markets, launched the partnership in July. It was formerly known as Manulife Business Processing Services.

Over three years, the partners aim to provide at least 450 water filtration kits, six rainwater catchment facilities, 26 water-efficient toilets with septic tanks, and 60 standalone handwashing stations. The program aims to benefit more than 20,000 Filipinos.

Residents attended filtration demonstrations and assembled systems with Manulife colleague-volunteers. The program also includes hygiene education, river rehabilitation, and environmental stewardship activities.

Alongside the water program, Manulife Philippines, the local arm of leading international financial services firm Manulife, expanded its Peso Smart financial literacy program to 26 public schools nationwide for School Year 2026-2027, aiming to educate 2,700 learners.

Lessons cover budgeting, saving, responsible spending, and goal setting. Three farm schools in Negros Occidental joined in August.

Manulife also awarded laptops to three top-performing Peso Smart schools in Pasig, Cebu, and Davao, recognizing their work in financial education among students and teachers.
