Recent data underscores the significant presence of Filipinos around the world, with over 10 million residing or working overseas. In 2023 alone, more than seven million individuals from the Philippines embarked on journeys abroad, including overseas workers and tourists, as reported by the Bureau of Immigration.

Initially established as a payments provider, Maya facilitated money transfers for overseas Filipinos through a network of remittance partners. With its transition into a digital bank, Maya’s offerings have expanded, allowing Filipinos worldwide to comprehensively manage their finances through a single digital platform.
Collaborations
The Maya Card, connected to Maya accounts, has become essential for Filipinos abroad, enabling purchases at over 130 million merchants globally and providing access to millions of ATMs worldwide. The Maya app offers real-time transaction alerts and rewards, enhancing users’ banking experience.
Visa recognized Maya as the top prepaid card issuer in the Philippines for three consecutive years from 2021 to 2023, further validating its commitment to excellence in digital banking services.
Maya has partnered with PLDT Global to offer Filipinos abroad a free Philippine-based virtual mobile number for Maya account registration. This collaboration ensures secure fund transfers using One-Time PINs (OTPs) sent to users’ virtual numbers.
Maya simplifies international remittances, allowing overseas Filipino workers to send money directly to upgraded Maya accounts in the Philippines from over 200 countries and territories.
