Microsoft has announced a fresh set of updates to its AI assistant, Copilot, focusing on giving users more control and making the experience more personal.
One of the main updates is a new feature called Memory. Copilot can now remember details like food preferences, movie favorites, or even a family member’s birthday. This helps the AI offer better advice, reminders, and support. Users can manage what Copilot remembers through a dashboard or turn off Memory entirely, keeping privacy and user control in focus.
Microsoft is also exploring ways for users to shape how Copilot looks. Soon, users can give Copilot a custom appearance and interact with it in a way that feels more fun and personal.
Another major change is Copilot’s ability to take actions based on user commands. Known as Actions, the AI can now help with tasks like booking restaurant reservations, sending gifts, or planning trips. Microsoft has teamed up with websites like Booking.com, OpenTable, and Tripadvisor to support this feature.
Copilot Vision
Copilot Vision, which first appeared on the web, is now available on mobile and Windows. It allows users to point their phone camera at real-world scenes and get advice or information in real time. It also works with stored photos to provide tips, such as how to care for plants or decorate a room. On Windows, the Copilot app can read the screen and help users navigate files, browser tabs, and apps. Voice commands are also supported.
The update introduces a tool called Pages, which helps users gather and organize their notes and ideas into one simple space. Copilot helps turn rough thoughts into clean drafts and final content.
Copilot can now also create podcasts tailored to a user’s interests. These audio clips are built from personal content or online sources, giving users a new way to consume information or explore topics.
For shoppers, Copilot now offers a tool that tracks prices, compares items, and even supports purchases within the app.
Lastly, Microsoft added Deep Research and Copilot Search. These tools let Copilot carry out detailed online searches and combine results from multiple sources to deliver better answers.
