Mapúa Malayan Digital College (MMDC) has introduced an AI-aided learning model and new certification programs designed for working professionals and career shifters.

MMDC has upgraded its digital learning system by delivering its curated programs through Coursera, an online platform used by universities and organizations around the world. This allows students to access both MMDC’s specialized content and industry-recognized microcredential courses.

“This upgrade reflects our commitment to empowering Filipino students with accessible, innovative learning that drives career success in a rapidly evolving world,” said Derrick Latreille, chief learning officer at MMDC.

AI tools now support all MMDC courses. Students can use AI tutors for real-time help, and the school plans to launch AI teaching assistants and role-play simulations within the year. These features aim to help students apply what they learn in real-world settings and improve their decision-making skills.

Upgraded system

The upgraded system is now used in MMDC’s Bachelor of Science in Information Technology programs. The business-focused track offers specializations in Data Analytics, Marketing Technology, and Entrepreneurship Technology, while the development-focused track includes Software Development and Network & Cybersecurity. These programs follow MMDC’s PPC (Projects, Problems, Cases) model, which helps students build practical skills such as teamwork, leadership, and analysis.

To serve learners beyond the college level, MMDC also launched short-term certification programs. These courses target those who are new to the workforce, professionals seeking advancement, or people switching careers.

“MMDC Certification Programs address a crucial gap. It’s for people who want to move forward professionally and get better jobs but don’t have the time or resources for a full college degree,” Latreille said. “With this program, they can gain relevant skills quickly and affordably, opening doors to better opportunities.”

Offered certifications include Virtual Assistance, IBM Data Analytics, Meta Social Media Marketing, Google Digital Marketing & E-commerce, and Adobe Content Creator. More programs are expected to follow.
