Cybersecurity company NCC Group is strengthening its presence in the Philippines by expanding local training programs and offering certifications and mentorship to employees, as part of its goal to grow cybersecurity skills in the country.

The UK-based firm, which started its Manila operations in early 2023, is now increasing its efforts to support Filipino professionals through specialized skills development. It also plans to provide its services to more local organizations.

“The Manila office has been an integral part of our global capacity for clients and has opened doors to develop local technology talent,” said Mirei Magallona, SVP and Philippines country leader, NCC Group. “We are now growing into a hub for specialized cyber expertise and continuing to expand our cybersecurity scope to support our clients.”

“Resilience and cyber security must now be built into the very fabric of our digital economies,” said British Ambassador to the Philippines Laure Beaufils. “In both the UK and the Philippines, we’ve seen how digitalization unlocks incredible potential for growth, inclusion, and innovation. But it also brings risks.”

“It’s key to understand what truly matters to the business: a risk-based approach and identify their most critical assets and their vulnerability, then create clear, practical, and usable policies around them,” Magallona said. “Threats evolve, so cyber policies need to be dynamic for them to be sustainable.”

As part of its 25th anniversary, NCC Group introduced a new line of Digital Identity Services to help organizations manage and protect their digital assets. The new offerings are powered by experts across its global workforce, including cyber professionals based in the Philippines.

“It is through their collective expertise that enabled NCC Group to stand at the forefront of cyber resilience, continuously innovating and striving for excellence to create a more secure digital future,” said Mike Maddison, CEO, NCC Group.
