Integrated resort Okada Manila has installed an electric vehicle (EV) charging station at its property, marking the first of its kind in Entertainment City. This move supports the resort’s goal to promote sustainability in the tourism and hospitality industry.
Located at the Lower Ground Floor Parking, near the VIP and valet drop-off area, the charging station is equipped with two Type 2 sockets that deliver up to 22 kWh of power. An EV can be charged from 50% to full in around two hours. Valet personnel handle the process as part of Okada Manila’s Valet service.
“We want our guests to enjoy a convenient and eco-friendly stay,” said Rob Scott, vice president of hotel operations at Okada Manila. “This EV charging station reflects our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and our role in shaping a greener future for tourism and hospitality in the Philippines.”
Reward Circle cardholders under the Maharlika, Supreme, and Okada Club tiers can use the charging station for free.
Lowering carbon footprint
The initiative is part of Okada Green Heart, the resort’s sustainability program. It follows the Energy Efficiency pillar, which focuses on lowering the resort’s carbon footprint through smart systems, renewable energy, and new technology.

“This is just one of many steps we are taking to reduce our impact on the environment,” Scott said. “We believe that businesses can play a strong role in encouraging cleaner and greener choices.”
By offering EV charging services, Okada Manila aims to support the shift to electric vehicles while giving guests an added convenience during their visit. The resort hopes this effort encourages more establishments to support clean energy use.
