The Quantum Computing Society of the Philippines (QCSP), in partnership with IBM Asia Pacific, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), will hold the Quantum Readiness Workshop: Computing, Workforce, and Quantum-Safe Security on April 23-24, 2026 at DAP–GSPDM in Pasig City.
The workshop follows the National Quantum Science and Technology Roadmapping Conference held in February, expanding discussions beyond the physics community to include leaders from government, industry, and academe. The shift shows growing urgency to align early on quantum computing, workforce readiness, and quantum-safe security.
The two-day, invitation-only event will bring together selected experts to discuss how the Philippines can prepare for the opportunities and risks tied to quantum technologies, which are advancing globally as countries assess their readiness and strategic direction.

Sessions will include strategic discussions, sector-focused working groups, and technical briefings. Key areas include quantum-safe cybersecurity, workforce development, infrastructure readiness, and industry adoption pathways.
Sectoral groups will cover finance, energy, ICT, national security and defense, disaster risk reduction and management, transport and logistics, materials and pharmaceuticals, and quantum supply chains.
The workshop also features a hands-on introduction to quantum computing using IBM’s Qiskit platform, giving participants practical exposure to emerging tools in the field.
Organizers said the initiative aims to build a shared understanding of quantum risks and opportunities, identify gaps across sectors, and support coordination frameworks for advancing the country’s quantum readiness.
While participation is limited, QCSP said it is sharing the initiative publicly to highlight growing momentum around quantum preparedness in the Philippines and the need for early collaboration.
Quantum Computing Society of the Philippines (QCSP) is a non-profit organization focused on raising awareness of quantum computing and developing a quantum-ready talent base in the country.
