PLDT Enterprise is hoping to improve the transport and logistics sectors by offering stronger and smarter wireless connectivity through its Wireless Indoor Coverage solution.
“Reliable wireless coverage plays a critical role in enhancing communication across transport and logistics operations, from real-time SMS updates to clear voice calls and seamless data access,” said John Gonzales, FVP and head of Enterprise Consulting Services and Technology Management at PLDT Enterprise.
The solution aims to improve coordination in warehouses, distribution hubs, and transit terminals. It helps reduce delivery errors, ensures timely updates to customers, and supports overall efficiency.
“This ultimately drives greater operational efficiency and boosts consumer satisfaction,” Gonzales said.
PLDT Enterprise said the service integrates wireless coverage into vehicles and transit hubs, providing reliable connections even in areas where signals are usually weak. The solution allows vehicles to maintain access to safety systems and communications while on the move and enables real-time system updates and alerts.
It also lets operators manage their networks remotely through cloud platforms, improving cybersecurity and ensuring systems remain updated and secure.
The Wireless Indoor Coverage extends connectivity into bus depots, terminals, and vehicles where traditional signals may drop, helping to maintain SMS alerts, emergency calls, and data access for navigation and dispatch tools.
Wired internet remains limited in some parts of the country. PLDT Enterprise noted that wireless broadband, including 5G, offers faster speeds, lower latency, and wider reach, which can connect underserved areas and support new technologies.
By offering remote management and better resiliency, the solution aims to address long-standing communication challenges in the transport industry while enhancing operational continuity and security.
