Carriers and enterprises can now view, book, and buy subsea cable capacity conveniently through Capacity B&B, an online booking portal launched by PLDT Global Corp. (PGC), the international arm of PLDT. This is the first time that a Philippine-based telco, through PGC, is offering subsea cable capacity as a product via a digital platform.
This innovation allows PGC customers to conveniently view the real-time availability of submarine cable capacity instead of manually inquiring over traditional channels. Customers can also discuss backhaul, local loop, or cross-connect service requirements in detail once PGC’s sales team reaches out to them.

International telcos or carriers, content providers, and enterprise clients can visit and sign up at Capacity B&B website to review available routes, place orders hassle-free, or make further inquiries on international capacities.
“We are continuously looking for ways to improve the experience of our customers by providing them with readily searchable subsea cable inventory and product details all in one platform,” said Albert Villa-Real, SVP and chief commercial officer at PGC. “This helps them save time and effort, especially in this pandemic, where we strive to ensure business continuity through low or no-contact transactions.”
Connectivity
With the international sphere as its mandate, this is among PGC’s many strategic innovations in pursuit of its commitment to provide best-in-class technology and connectivity to accelerate the digital transformation of businesses all over the world.
This initiative also falls under PLDT’s group-wide commitment to Awesome Customer Experience and Quality of Service, one of the seven pillars that comprise the company’s sustainability framework. With the UN Sustainable Development Goal #9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure as PLDT’s anchor, this development is aligned with the company’s sustainability focus area of connecting everyone, everywhere.
