PLDT Global Corp. (PGC), the international subsidiary of the Philippine telecommunications firm PLDT, has teamed up with Larus Limited (Larus). The partnership is meant to enable carriers and enterprises to access geolocated Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) addresses.
This partnership allows customers of PGC to access Larus’ geolocation feature, strengthen their cybersecurity, and identify and customize their product offers for a better customer experience.
“We recognize that the global demand for faster, more secure, and more reliable connectivity has grown at an unprecedented scale as more businesses transform digitally,” said Albert Villa-Real, SVP and chief commercial officer at PLDT Global. “This partnership with Larus gives us an opportunity to deliver a stable supply of IPv4 addresses in Southeast Asia and beyond, as well as simplified solutions that cater to the needs of our carrier and enterprise clients who are looking to level up their services.”
The localization of IPv4 addresses ensures reliable connection, data protection and privacy, security against malware, management and streamlining of network operations, and essentially, lower the costs for network support.
“Since the internet service industry is proliferating in the 21st century, it only makes sense for us to partner up with PGC,” said Heng Lu, CEO at Larus. “Larus is hoping to provide all kinds of IP address-related services and act as a long-term IP address supply partner and infrastructure services to PLDT Global. This is a win-win situation for both parties. We can leverage our resources, strengths, and expertise to have a mutually beneficial partnership.”
This is among PGC’s many strategic partnerships with international ICT leaders, bearing witness to its commitment to provide best-in-class technology and connectivity to accelerate the digital transformation of businesses all over the world.
