PLDT Global, the international arm of telco giant PLDT, has joined forces with Venio, a US-based fintech company, to bring its digital and telecom services closer to Filipinos living overseas. The partnership aims to improve access to PLDT’s online marketplace app, Tindahan ni Bossing (TinBo), in the United States.

“This collaboration will not only increase the adoption of the TinBo app but also expand the availability of our digital and telecom services through Venio’s established distribution network,” said Albert Villa-Real, president and CEO at PLDT Global. “Together, we aim to provide a seamless and convenient experience for Filipinos abroad.”

The TinBo app serves as a one-stop shop for overseas Filipinos. It includes affordable communication tools and financial services, such as Smart Virtual Numbers (SVNs), which are Philippine mobile numbers that work without a SIM card. These numbers allow users to receive one-time passwords (OTPs) from Philippine banks and e-wallets, as well as calls and messages from their families back home.

What the partnership offers

The app also supports digital transactions, including e-vouchers and bill payments for Philippine utilities, designed specifically for the needs of Filipinos working and living abroad.

Venio, which specializes in remittances and payment solutions, will use its retail and business network to distribute TinBo in markets like the USA, Canada, Australia, and the UAE. It will also become the business-to-business (B2B) partner for PLDT Global, helping bring PLDT services to more Filipino-focused outlets and digital platforms.

“Our expertise in fintech solutions, combined with PLDT Global’s robust digital services, will create new opportunities for Filipinos in the US and beyond. We look forward to driving the adoption of TinBo and offering PLDT’s products through our platform,” said Warren Platt, CEO at Venio.

For overseas Filipinos, the collaboration means easier access to services that help them stay connected and manage their finances in one place. For retail partners, it offers the chance to grow their offerings with services that meet real needs in the overseas Filipino market.
