PLDT Home Life, a service of telecommunications company PLDT Home, is offering a smart home starter kit that bundles security and automation devices for households using fiber internet.
The package includes connected cameras, sensors, a smart plug, and a control hub designed to help users monitor and manage home devices through a mobile app. The kit is available to existing PLDT Home Fiber subscribers for a one-time payment of ₱4,836.
The offer comes as households adopt internet-connected devices through the Internet of Things (IoT), which allows appliances and security tools to communicate and operate through a network.
“Last year saw a decrease in both property crime and cybercrime in the Philippines, according to the latest data from the Philippine National Police (PNP),” said John Palanca, SVP and head for Consumer Business, PLDT Home. “Yet, it’s more important than ever to deter further incidents of theft and break-ins by empowering security in Filipino homes.”
PLDT Home Life partnered with electronics brand TP-Link, which supplies the Tapo line of devices included in the kit.
The bundle includes the Tapo H100 Smart Hub with Chime, which connects and manages the smart devices through a wireless network. The hub also works with sensors and sends alerts or sounds alarms when triggered.
Two cameras are included in the package. The Tapo C110 Indoor Camera records video in 2K resolution and uses artificial intelligence (AI) to detect human movement and sound. The Tapo C120 Indoor and Outdoor Camera also records in 2K resolution and supports two-way audio, allowing users to talk through the camera. The outdoor camera can detect movement involving people, pets, and vehicles using AI.
The kit also includes the Tapo P105 Mini Smart Plug, which allows users to turn appliances on or off remotely using a smartphone. Users can also set schedules or timers for devices connected to the plug.
Another device in the package is the Tapo T310 Temperature and Humidity Sensor, which tracks climate conditions inside the home. The sensor can help users monitor humidity levels that may lead to mold and track temperature changes that could affect appliances or increase fire risks.
The Tapo T110 Smart Contact Sensor is designed to monitor doors and windows. The sensor sends alerts when a door or window is opened or left open for a set period.
PLDT Home Life said the devices can work together to automate certain tasks, such as turning appliances on or off based on schedules or environmental changes. The system can also send real-time notifications to users when activity is detected, even when they are away from home.
The company said the starter kit is intended for households starting to use smart home devices, with equipment that can be installed and managed through a mobile application.
PLDT Home Life distributes smart home devices sourced from partner brands including TP-Link, Tapo, and Eufy. The service focuses on offering connected home tools that operate using PLDT’s fiber internet service.
Existing subscribers can purchase the starter kit through the Next Upgrade Shop page by logging into their PLDT Home accounts. Additional smart home devices and digital services are also available through PLDT Home Life.
