Network provider PLDT Inc. and its wireless unit Smart Communications, Inc. are working with popular short video platform Tiktok Philippines Inc. to empower micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the Visayas region through the eBiznovation Buy Local Bazaar Caravan.
The eBiznovation Buy Local Bazaar Caravan provides a series of training to equip small businesses with the skills to leverage the Tiktok platform, enabling them to connect with new customers and expand their online presence.
“With the right skills and support from partners like Tiktok, small businesses can tap into digital channels to showcase their products and expand their livelihood,” said Marylou Gocotano, relations head of PLDT and Smart Stakeholder Management Visayas.

Creating engaging content
The training sessions, conducted during the bazaar, included hands-on workshops covering best practices for creating engaging content, building a brand on TikTok, connecting with a global customer base, and selling products through the platform. Participants also received guidance on internet safety and were introduced to the Maya Business App for streamlined payment processes, facilitating secure and efficient online transactions.
“I hope that our MSMEs will use this training to their advantage so they become empowered to thrive in the digital era,” said Japhet Moleta, SB member of LGU Miagao. “Hopefully, these efforts would forge a path of progress, bridging opportunities for local entrepreneurs through technology.”
PLDT and Smart’s eBiznovation program focuses on leveraging technology to improve income and market access for MSMEs, cooperatives, and other vital economic sectors.
