PLDT Inc., with its enterprise division and wireless subsidiary Smart Communications, is reinforcing its commitment to driving industry-wide transformation through 5G technology and Network APIs. The telecommunications group has urged greater collaboration among industry stakeholders to enable real-time connectivity and integration across various sectors.
“Our mission is to enable enterprises to transform through relevant solutions powered by 5G and Network APIs and bring use cases to life through industry collaboration,” said Jojo Gendrano, SVP and head of Enterprise Business Group at PLDT, during the recent Ericsson “Imagine Live” event.
The event underscored 5G’s role in boosting productivity across industries like manufacturing, healthcare, and government.
“For companies like Amkor Technology, which operates a vast network of machines, 5G offers real-time connectivity. This supports predictive maintenance and efficient operations,” Gendrano shared.
“5G Standalone technology will enable real-time responsiveness, reduce latency, and ensure continuous optimization of our production lines. It’s key to our strategy for operational excellence,” said Jonathan Mondero, CIO of Amkor Technology Philippines.
The integration of Network APIs also enhances service efficiency, enabling faster banking transactions, smart city initiatives, and advanced telemedicine.
“It’s about understanding what our customers need and partnering with industry to make a difference,” added Gendrano.
