Integrated telco PLDT has launched Nvidia-powered graphics processing unit (GPU) servers at Vitro Sta. Rosa, making it the first data center in the Philippines ready to support artificial intelligence (AI) workloads.
“We envision Vitro Sta. Rosa to be the Philippines’ AI hub, forming the first AI ecosystem in the country,” said Victor Genuino, president and CEO of ePLDT & Vitro Inc. “This new milestone showcases VSR’s true capabilities to host the latest AI platforms that will reshape our digital landscape today.”
Vitro Inc., the data center arm of the PLDT Group and a subsidiary of ePLDT, operates the 50-megawatt facility designed to serve businesses, hyperscale companies, and AI-driven platforms. By running live GPU servers, the data center can handle the growing demands of AI applications and improve ePLDT’s GPU-as-a-Service (GPUaaS) offerings. This setup allows businesses to access high-performance computing without needing to invest in costly infrastructure.
Vitro Sta. Rosa is designed to support up to 100 kilowatts per rack, ensuring it can meet the increasing power needs of AI technologies. The facility will also adopt advanced power and cooling solutions to keep up with AI’s changing requirements.
