VITRO Inc., the data center subsidiary of ePLDT and part of PLDT Inc., has completed the energization of its VITRO Sta. Rosa (VSR) data center in the Philippines. The data center aims to focus on supporting artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing infrastructure.

“With AI-driven solutions and cloud computing on the rise, VITRO Sta. Rosa is now AI-ready,” said Victor Genuino, president and CEO of ePLDT and VITRO Inc. “This facility is prepared to host and manage the Philippines’ most robust computing infrastructure, supporting generative AI, large language models, and other high-performance workloads.”

The facility’s energization became feasible after the activation of a 115kV switching station by Meralco in Sta. Rosa, allowing clients to soon begin connecting their equipment. Several telecommunications providers have already set up their points-of-presence (POPs) within VSR, positioning it as a primary hub for enterprise and telecom networks.

VSR’s design promises energy efficiency, with an initial 20MW of IT power planned for release by year’s end and a commitment to sourcing at least 35% of its power from renewable energy. The facility employs advanced cooling and power systems to enhance reliability, which supports the high demands of AI applications and hyperscale workloads.

The data center is also built to meet stringent industry standards, being prepared for a Rated-3 certification and on track to achieve Rated-4 readiness. Its network infrastructure includes a minimum of three fiber routes from PLDT and other telecom providers, designed to deliver strong network diversity and resilience.
