VITRO Inc., the data center subsidiary of ePLDT under telecommunications provider PLDT Inc., has activated the network infrastructure for its 50-MW VITRO Sta. Rosa (VSR) data center. This move allows telecommunications partners to establish points-of-presence (PoP) within the facility, enhancing its network options and reliability.

“At VITRO, our commitment goes beyond constructing state-of-the-art facilities,” said Victor Genuino, president and CEO of ePLDT and VITRO Inc. “We strive to build hyperconnected data centers that drive our clients’ business success.”

Telecommunications providers including PLDT, Radius, Eastern Telecommunications, Philcom, Infinivan, HGC, and Converge ICT are set to establish PoPs at VSR, ensuring a diverse and reliable network ecosystem.

VSR’s setup includes three entry points to the facility for network connections, optimizing reliability. By the end of the year, the data center will activate 52 telco racks, with plans to scale up to more than 200 racks to support future demand.

VITRO has collaborated with Ciena, a global networking solutions provider, to strengthen connectivity between its data centers in Metro Manila. Through Ciena’s Data Center Interconnect (DCI) solution, VSR can deliver high-speed, secure connections, enabling clients to create robust disaster recovery plans.

The DCI solution also supports VITRO’s internet and exchange services, making them accessible across all its facilities.

“Our mission is to foster a telco and carrier ecosystem that promotes growth, resilience, and innovation in the digital age,” Genuino said. He emphasized the role of network diversity in ensuring client success.
