Streaming platform Prime Video has announced improvements to its user experience, which are being rolled out globally and will be available to all customers in the coming weeks. The updates will simplify navigation and enhance personalized recommendations.
“We’re always listening to customers and reviewing feedback, and it’s clear that many are in search of a more intuitive streaming experience,” said Kam Keshmiri, vice president of Design at Prime Video. “With the improvements we have made to the user experience, customers will be presented with an easy-to-navigate entertainment destination where they can discover new titles and enjoy favorites.”
The enhancements include a new navigation bar with purpose-built destinations such as “Home,” “Movies,” and “TV Shows,” making it easier to browse by content type. There is also a hero rotator below the navigation bar which will showcase content available with a subscription, offering single-click access to titles and quick synopses.
Prime Video’s library includes Amazon MGM Studios-produced series and movies like “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” “Fallout,” and “Reacher.” Licensed favorites such as “La La Land” and local offerings like “LOL: Last One Laughing Philippines” and “Takeshi’s Castle Philippines” are also available. The platform features acclaimed sports documentaries, including “Bye Bye Barry” and “Federer: Twelve Final Days.”
The update focuses heavily on improved recommendations, utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs) to simplify synopses for TV shows and movies. Users can browse content by taste, with categories like “Top 10 in the Philippines” and “Trending Shows” enhancing the discovery process.
Prime Video has also introduced new animations, smooth page transitions, and zoom effects to create a more immersive browsing experience. These updates are optimized for all devices, including older models, ensuring a seamless streaming experience for everyone.
