On its 25th anniversary this September, Pru Life UK will be holding a grand raffle draw where one winner will take home P2.5 million in cash.

“Through the raffle series, we aim to promote and reward a healthy lifestyle, all within the ecosystem of our Pulse, a technology which the Pru Life UK community is extremely proud of. In a way, the Pulse app captures the company’s 25 years of innovation and commitment to protect the health and grow the wealth of Filipinos,” said Allan Tumbaga, SVP and chief marketing officer, Pru Life UK.

Pru Life UK was launched in the Philippines in 1996 and became one of the first companies allowed by the Insurance Commission to issue dollar-denominated policies. Two years later, it was ranked among the top 10 life insurance companies in the Philippines in terms of First-Year Premiums. In 2001, the company was named the fastest-growing life insurer in the country with a 63% growth rate.

Pioneer

The following year, Pru Life UK pioneered the first unit-linked or investment-linked life insurance product in the Philippines. The company reached another milestone in 2007 when it hit the P1 billion mark in terms of Annualized Premium Equivalent, a 130% growth from the previous year.

Pru Life UK expanded its reach to children when it launched the Cha-Ching Financial Literacy for the Youth Program in 2012. This was quickly followed by the introduction of the Prudence Foundation, the community investment arm of Prudential plc in Asia and Africa. More innovations were announced within the decade: the customer portal PRUAccess, the PRULink Global Emerging Markets fund, the PRULink Cash Flow fund, and the best-selling product PRULink Elite Protector 5.

In 2016, Pru Life UK inaugurated PRURide PH, which promotes cycling as a way to achieve health and wellness, and as a sustainable alternative mode of transportation. Three years later, PRURide PH received a 2.2-accreditation from the Union Cycliste Internationale, the world’s governing body for cycling.

The company began offering asset management and trust products in 2019, with the opening of its subsidiary Pru Life UK Investments.

Earlier this year, PRUDengue products were launched on Pulse, and more protection and health products are set for launch in the coming months of 2021.
