Insurer Pru Life UK has introduced the PRULink Global Tech Navigator Fund, giving Filipino investors a new opportunity to access the growing global tech industry. The peso-denominated fund is powered by ATRAM Trust Corp. and invests in Fidelity International’s Global Technology Fund.
The target fund, managing $23.9 billion as of July 2024, is considered to be one of the largest globally. ATRAM, an asset management firm, oversees more than P360 billion in assets. Pru Life UK aims to help customers achieve their financial goals by leveraging the growth of global tech companies.
“Through our investment-linked insurance products, we want our customers to have access to the growth of tech-driven companies worldwide with a fund that largely invests through ATRAM in the Fidelity Funds – Global Technology Fund of Fidelity International,” said Garen Dee, VP and chief product officer of Pru Life UK.
The PRULink Global Tech Navigator Fund offers exposure to tech giants such as Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Samsung, and Taiwan Semiconductor. These companies play a key role in advancing technology and shaping industries worldwide.
Ideal for customers with an aggressive investment risk profile, the fund allows investment in dollar-denominated assets using Philippine pesos. It also offers the potential for returns through favorable currency exchange movements, though risks exist.
Despite recent short-term volatility in the tech sector, experts suggest that the current market presents a favorable time for long-term investments. The fund offers a chance to acquire high-quality stocks at relatively low prices.
